Eight Danes explain how they have found quality in life after a cancer diagnosis. The film tells the story about how these people have managed to get through a period of fighting cancer. They tell about getting back on your feet after the initial shock, the illness itself and about regaining quality in life. For most of them it has been a violent struggle mentally as well as physically. The participants have had very different kinds of cancer and also different backgrounds to get through the phase. They have one thing in common: They have never lost hope, and they have all decided to take a personal responsibility and have been active in the process of fighting the disease. They were determined to survive. Today they live a changed life, and life is lived more intensively and stronger than ever.
