To the outside world Nørrebro’s immigrant community appear to be a closed society characterized by a timid mentality. A timidness that often creates ground for prejudice and misunderstanding. Rarely does the relationship between Arab and Dane go beyond occasional meetings at the counter in the local store. Everyone seems lost, because they have no clue as to where the dialogue should start. In the documentary we follow Ahmad as he talks several generations of immigrants and listen in on their views on the problems between ”Them” and ”Us”. Ahmad also succeeds in getting in touch with some of the hardest criminals, who tell him about the life as a gangster in Nørrebro. A life that is all but rosy, especially when you’re forced to spend your youth in Horserød State Prison.
